FDA approves saliva test for COVID-19
Currently, tests to diagnose COVID-19 require a swab from deep in nasal passages or back of the throat. The FDA has granted emergency use authorization to a test involving self-collection of saliva, thus reducing risk to health care professionals currently performing swabs.
