Findings from latest COVID-19 REACT-1 study (April 2021)

Between 11-30 Mar and 15 Apr-3 May, national prevalence has dropped by 50% from 0.20% to 0.10%, with R number of 0.90 in England. Data on variants show 92% of infections were from B.1.1.7 (Kent) variant compared to 7.7% from B.1.617.2 (India) variant.

SPS commentary:

REACT-1 is the largest population surveillance study being undertaken in England that examines the prevalence of the virus causing COVID-19 in the general population. It uses test results and feedback from over 150,000 participants each month.
