Frequency of and Factors Associated With Nonmedical Opioid Use Behavior Among Patients With Cancer Receiving Opioids for Cancer Pain

This US study of patients taking opioids for cancer pain (n=1554) found 1% developed non-medical opioid use behaviour; factors independently associated with this included single or divorced status, higher levels of pain severity, and daily opioid dose.
