General versus Local Anesthesia with Conscious Sedation in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: The Randomized SOLVE-TAVI Trial
In this study (n=447), use of local anaesthesia with conscious sedation was associated with a similar rate of the primary endpoint (all-cause mortality, stroke, MI, infection requiring treatment, and AKI at 30 days) as general anaesthesia (27.2% v 26.4%; P for equivalence=0.015).
