Glucose Control, Sulfonylureas, and Insulin Treatment in Elderly People With Type 2 Diabetes and Risk of Severe Hypoglycemia and Death: An Observational Study

This UK study of elderly patients (≥70 years) with diabetes (n=22,857) found that those with a low HbA1c on sulfonylurea and/or insulin treatment had a higher risk for hospitalisation due to severe hypoglycaemia (HR 2.52; 95% CI 2.23-2.84) but no clear increased mortality.
