Glycemic Control and the Risk of Acute Kidney Injury in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease: Parallel Population-Based Cohort Studies in U.S. and Swedish Routine Care

Observational report of 2 cohorts (US – 22,877 & Sweden 12,157) found an increased risk for acute kidney injury for HbA1c >9% vs 6-6.9% (HR 1.29, 95%CI 1.18-1.41 in US and 1.33, 1.13-1.57 in Swedish cohort). Results were consistent in stratified analysis.
