Glycemic Index, Glycemic Load, and Cardiovascular Disease and Mortality

In this study (n=137,851 on 5 continents, median follow-up 9.5 years), a diet with a high glycaemic index was linked to increased risk of CVD and death, among participants with preexisting CVD (HR 1.51; 95% CI, 1.25 to 1.82) and without such disease (1.21; 1.11 to 1.34).
