Historical HbA1c Values May Explain the Type 2 Diabetes Legacy Effect: UKPDS 88
Analysis of data from 3,802 UK Prospective Diabetes Study participants found imposing a 1% reduction in HbA1c from diagnosis was associated with an 18.8% (95% CI 21.1–16.0) reduction in mortality risk; this was much lower (2.7%) if imposed after 10 years.
