Hospitalization for Lactic Acidosis Among Patients With Reduced Kidney Function Treated With Metformin or Sulfonylureas

This cohort study of veterans with diabetes who developed reduced renal function found lactic acidosis incidence was low and similar for those continuing metformin or sulfonylureas (4.18 v 3.69 hospitalisations per 1,000 person-years; HR 1.21; 95% CI 0.99-1.50).
