Hypertension is the major predictor of poor outcomes among inpatients with COVID-19 infection in the UK: a retrospective cohort study

Study (n= 907; March to May 2020) found greater mortality risk with diabetes and hypertension together vs either condition alone (OR 2.75; 95% CI 1.80 to 4.21; p<0.001) and no adverse outcomes with use of angiotensin-receptor blockers (OR 0.57) or ACE inhibitors (OR 0.65).
