Current MHRA guidance for ibuprofen in COVID-19
SPS commentary:
Early in the pandemic there were some concerns that ibuprofen might be detrimental in COVID-19, however the most recent MHRA review concluded that there is currently insufficient evidence to establish a link between use of ibuprofen, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and contracting or worsening of COVID19.
For mild coronavirus symptoms, the NHS Choices website advises people try paracetamol first, as it has fewer side-effects than ibuprofen and is the safer choice for most people.
