Idebenone (Raxone®) recommended for use within NHS Wales for treatment of visual impairment in adolescent and adult patients with Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON)

There are currently no other licensed medicines available for treatment of LHON and current clinical practice is limited to best supportive care. The recommendation for this ultra-orphan medicine applies only in circumstances where approved Wales Patient Access Scheme is utilised
