Immunogenicity of COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines in Pregnant and Lactating Women
Cohort study (n=103) found COVID-19 mRNA vaccines were immunogenic in pregnant women. Binding and neutralising antibodies were detected in infant cord blood and in breast milk, suggesting the possibility that newborns may be protected by maternal vaccination.

SPS commentary:
This study is limited by its size and design, and the fact that it relied on a convenience sample of women who were willing to be vaccinated, which could affect generalisability of the results. In addition, the correlates of immunogenicity and protection against Covid-19 infection and disease have not yet been determined.
