Impact of lowering the risk threshold for statin treatment on statin prescribing: a descriptive study in English primary care

Study, which considered only people with ‘coded’ risk scores in their medical record, found the average 10-year CVD risk of people initiated on statins modestly reduced from 21.85% before the 2014 NICE guideline change, to 18.65% after. Coding however, significantly increased.
