Is risk compensation threatening public health in the covid-19 pandemic?

Increasing risky behaviour after adopting a protective measure (risk compensation) has been used to argue against public health interventions, such as face coverings. Available evidence does not support concerns that use of face coverings adversely affects hand hygiene.
