Ketamine for the treatment of prehospital acute pain: a systematic review of benefit and harm
Review of 8 studies (n=2,760) found ketamine probably reduces pain more than opioids (difference between modalities in 0-10 visual analogue pain score of -0.4, p<0.05) with less nausea and vomiting (RR 0.24, 95%CI 0.11-0.52) but more agitation (7.81, 1.85-33).
