Lifestyle Intervention With or Without Lay Volunteers to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes in People With Impaired Fasting Glucose and/or Nondiabetic Hyperglycemia: A Randomized Clinical Trial
RCT (n=1,028) found that theory-based lifestyle intervention of 21 sessions reduced the incidence of progression to type 2 diabetes whether delivered with or without additional support from diabetes prevention mentors (OR 0.61, 95%CI 0.39-0.96 and 0.54, 0.34-0.85 respectively).
