Medication review versus usual care to improve drug therapies in hospitalised older patients admitted to internal medicine wards

Evaluation of data from 200 inpatients identified 487 inappropriate prescriptions: 175 according to Beers criteria, 50 according to STOPP criteria, and 1 according to START criteria. Inappropriate prescriptions were reduced by 38%, but this did not reduce hospital length of stay.
