Metformin Should Not Be Used to Treat Prediabetes

This Perspectives article argues against the use of metformin to treat prediabetes, because people with prediabetes are not at risk for microvascular complications, many don’t go on to develop diabetes, and around one third will return to normal glucose regulation.
