Metformin versus the combined oral contraceptive pill for hirsutism, acne, and menstrual pattern in polycystic ovary syndrome

Review (44 RCTs; N=2253) suggests metformin may be less effective in hirsutism vs oral contraceptive pill (OCP) in BMI > 25 to 30 kg/m2, but uncertainties in BMI’s outside this range. Either metformin or OCP may be less effective in hirsutism vs metformin + OCP.
