Multiplicity and complexity: a qualitative exploration of influences on prescribing in UK general practice

Qualitative research, including interviews with prescribers and focus groups, found prescribing is influenced by multiple intersecting factors. There were mixed views about the potential of practice based pharmacists to promote evidence-based prescribing in general practice.
