National Diet and Nutrition Survey: Assessment of salt intake from urinary sodium in adults (aged 19 to 64 years) in England, 2018 to 2019
This survey estimates the mean salt intake for adults (based on 24-hour urinary sodium excretion) as 8.4g/day (40% higher than the government recommended maximum of 6 g/day), with wide distribution and with no statistically significant change from 2014.
