National Patient Safety Alert – Foreign body aspiration during intubation, advanced airway management or ventilation

Alert warns loose items unintentionally introduced into airway during intubation, ventilation or advanced airway management can lead to partial/complete airway blockage or obstruction. Complications may not be immediately recognised. If cause is not suspected, this can be fatal.
