New SSP issued for Ramipril 2.5mg tablets (SSP071)

A serious shortage protocol has been issued to enable pharmacists to dispense ramipril 2.5mg capsules instead of ramipril 2.5mg tablets to help mitigate the effects of this product shortage. The SSP will remain valid until 15/11/24.

SPS commentary:

In the related Medicine Shortage Notification it is stated that although other strengths of ramipril tablets remain available there are not sufficient stocks to support any increase in demand due to the shortage of this strength of tablet.
