Off‐label use of quetiapine in nursing homes: Does medical specialty of prescribing physicians play a role?

Data from 379 Swiss nursing home patients prescribed quetiapine shows 94% of prescriptions were off-label, with 87% originating from GPs, for agitation and dementia. Researchers suggest more frequent specialist involvement in nursing homes to prevent inappropriate prescribing.
