Oxford vaccine could substantially cut spread

News report details publication of a preprint study (not yet peer reviewed) which has found that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine was 76% effective during the three months after the first dose. The study swabbed participants every week to test for the presence of the virus.

SPS commentary:

In the prespecified pooled analysis of studies of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine (n=17,177) found vaccine efficacy after a single standard dose of vaccine from day 22 to day 90 post vaccination was 76%, and modelled analysis indicated that protection did not wane during this initial 3 month period.
