Practical prescribing: Paracetamol use in adults

Second article in this new BMJ series, which aims to improve decision making, covers mechanism of action of paracetamol, what to discuss with patients before starting treatment, important adverse effects, monitoring, and when the patient should stop taking it.

The BMJ in conjunction with the Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin has commissioned a series of articles on practical prescribing.
