Printed educational materials: effects on professional practice and healthcare outcomes

Review of 84 studies found, that when used alone and compared to no intervention, printed education materials may slightly improve healthcare professionals' practice outcomes and patient health outcomes. The effectiveness of PEMs compared to other interventions is uncertain.
