Republished: Infant with status epilepticus secondary to systemic lidocaine toxicity from topical application

This case report describes a previously healthy 11-month-old infant who presented with status epilepticus, diagnosed as secondary to lidocaine toxicity, after treatment with topical 4% lidocaine cream for a groin rash. Her seizures resolved with benzodiazepines and fosphenytoin.
