Risk factors for COVID-19-related mortality in people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes in England: a population-based cohort study

This research found deaths in people with type 1 and 2 diabetes rose sharply during the initial COVID-19 pandemic in England. Increased mortality was associated with worsening glycaemic control, BMI (U-shaped association), renal impairment, and previous stroke and heart failure.
