Risk for Non–AIDS-Defining and AIDS-Defining Cancer of Early Versus Delayed Initiation of Antiretroviral Therap: A Multinational Prospective Cohort Study

Study (n=8318) found deferring antiretroviral therapy (ART) linked to increased risk for AIDS-defining cancer (ADC); one would have to treat 332 & 100 persons immediately (vs. deferring initiation to <350×109 cells/L) to prevent 1 case non–ADC and 1 ADC, respectively, over 10yrs.
