Role of the hospital pharmacist in an Italian antimicrobial stewardship programme

Study in 6 Italian hospitals found work of pharmacists linked to a statistically significant increase in the conversion from IV to oral antibiotics, a 34% reduction in drug stocks, 4% increase in allergy reports and 275% increase in number of adverse drug reactions reported.
