Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) and NICE find insufficient evidence for vitamin D in prevention or treatment of acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs)

The evidence at this time does not support recommending vitamin D supplementation to prevent ARTIs in the general UK population. This conclusion does not impact on existing government advice to take a daily 10 microgram vitamin D supplement to protect musculoskeletal health.
