Severe Hypoglycemia and Risk of Falls in Type 2 Diabetes: The Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study

Prospective analysis of this community-based population of adults with diabetes (n=1162) found severe hypoglycemia linked to substantially higher risk of falls (HR 2.23,95% CI,1.61–3.07), thus fall risk should be considered when individualising glycaemic treatment in older adults
