Sleep Duration Patterns in Early to Middle Adulthood and Subsequent Risk of Type 2 Diabetes in Women

Analysis of data for 60,068 women from Nurses’ Health Study II found persistent short (5 or 6h) sleep duration (SD) in early to middle adulthood, as well as increased SD (from 6 to 7.5 h) or decreased SD (from 8 to 6 h), was linked to higher subsequent type 2 diabetes risk.
