Strategic health authorities and regions: lessons from history

NHS England and NHS Improvement became a single entity in 2019, resulting in the creation of seven regional teams to support national oversight of healthcare. This report looks at what lessons might be learned from previous experience (1996-2012) of such regional bodies.
