Targeted encouragement of GP consultations for possible cancer symptoms: a randomised controlled trial

RCT (n=1513) found that a targeted intervention (posted letter and leaflet) promoting both awareness of possible cancer symptoms and earlier health seeking, led to higher rate of consultation (436 vs. 335 control arm; RR 1.40, 95% CI 1.11-1.77; p=0.004).
