The association of amputations and peripheral artery disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus receiving sodium-glucose cotransporter type-2 inhibitors: real-world study
US study (n=3,293,983) found similar risk of amputations for sodium-glucose cotransporter type-2 inhibitors and incretins; and risk was not higher compared to older anti-diabetic drugs. Pre-existing peripheral was the greatest driver of amputation risk.
