The effect of initiation of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors on haemoglobin: A national cohort study

UK 13-year study reported initiation of ACEI/ARB treatment was associated with a 15% increase in the risk of a ≥1 g/dL haemoglobin reduction vs calcium channel blocker (n=146,610 drug initiation events; 19.5% vs 15.9%) and may have implications for drug choice/monitoring.
