The Long-term Effects of Metformin on Patients With Type 2 Diabetic Kidney Disease
Retrospective observational study (n=10,426) found use of metformin in patients with advanced CKD, especially stage 3B, decreased risk of all-cause mortality (HR 0.65; 95% CI 0.57–0.73; p< 0.001) and incident end-stage renal disease, and did not increase risk of lactic acidosis.
