Review noted paucity of evidence on comparison of facemasks & respirators specific to SARS-CoV-2, with only 3 lab studies of 14 different respirators and 12 surgical facemasks identified, and UK Government PPE guidance is based on extrapolation of non-SARS-CoV-2 specific data.
