Use of proton pump inhibitors is associated with lower rates of first‐time ischemic stroke in community‐dwelling elderly
Retrospective database study of 29,639 Israeli subjects (without stroke or antiplatelets; mean age 82.2 years) found PPI use was associated with lower rates of first‐time ischemic stroke vs non-users over median follow up of 10.58 years (HR 0.73; 95% C.I. 0.69–0.77; p < 0.001).
