Use of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors and risk of acute kidney injury in older adults with diabetes: a population-based cohort study.

Canadian study (n= 39,094, median age 70 yrs) reported new use of SGLT2 inhibitors was associated with a lower risk of acute kidney injury versus use of DPP4 inhibitors (1.10% vs 1.99%; RR, 0.79; 95% CI 0.64-0.98) suggesting regulatory warnings regarding risk are not necessary.
